PLEASE WEAR HEADPHONES WHEN LISTENING

When the second image appears in the videos, underground sound will be heard.

These videos connect these ecosystems and communities through the shared experience of underground sound.

LEARN MORE ABOUT TREES

Trees provide many benefits. They cool the temperature, capture stormwater, provide food and shelter, inspire diverse cultural practices, and much more. Their presence on our streets and parks can make us feel safe and protected and their shade in the summer provides space to comfortably gather or relax. Underground, fungal communities also help trees form networks for exchanging nutrients and other resources, potentially allowing trees to communicate with one another via (allelopathic) chemicals.
